How do Alloy Rim Brakes work?
Rim brakes work when the brake caliper applies the stopping force to the edge of the wheel rim, located just below the tyre. This generates friction between the brake pads and brake track which slows the rotation of the wheel and brings the rider to a stop. Rim brakes use a heat resistent resin that reduces temperature build up when braking for long durations.
